EPIRB?

This ought to make a few of the female types reading the blog rest a bit easier over the months to come.  This morning while I was making some client calls I overheard my mother in her office on the phone saying "so this will work all over Patagonia, and all he has to do is push the button and a helicopter comes to get him right...?"  Upon going in to investigate I found her ordering me a MicroFix PLB (Personal Locator Beacon). Basically the way this thing works is that if I fall off a glacier or something and break both legs I can just push a button and it sends a signal to a satellite and some call center operator gets a call and then confirms with my family that the call is real and some whole new chain of events that I only marginally understand results in my rescue. It only weighs 9oz, so I figure what the heck, it can't hurt!
